Got my photoblog up and running. Posts will be from time to time!
Some may be frightened, some may be shocked and some might even be aroused! Either way I didnt get to Coopers going away do until nearly 12.45 - When myself and Dave Mac arrived the parteeee was in full swing. It must be said that someone in the group had serious bowel problems, because they flatulation was just plain fucked up. In this individuals colon, something, maybe a small rat or wren had died months previous. Every 15-20 minutes the person in question would let one rip. I felt like in was Vietnam, or one of the World Wars where grenades were being thrown into the trenches and fellas were running for their lives. The only problem last night was there no was no one to yell "INCOMING".

I grabbed a few vids and pics, keep in mind that camera phones just do not work well late at night!

At times Im sure people on Oliver Plunkett St. thought some of the Brazilian fans got lost on the way to Germany! Even though its dark, the vid with the person playing the violin is actually Eimear from CTB, not that shes part of the band or anything..maybe she was but either way we were all well impressed. Twas the best bit of fiddling Ive seen a woman do in quite some time.

No idea whats wrong with Dave Mac in this one, not sure where Coopers other hand is

Cooper, Colm and yours truly.

Gemma and Clare - I wont say anything smart(ish) on this one

This looks like its from the FBIs most wanted list

That is all for now!

Time is getting on, and another weekend is over! Gonna be a short on today Im afraid. The Da Vinci Code and X-men 3 were on the agenda over the weekend. Both very enjoyable flicks, although I thought X men was lacking at times. Whatever you do, dont leave the cinema until AFTER the credits roll up the screen for Xmen. Its worth the wait, granted 7 minutes of credits gets you 10 seconds of extra footage. Either way "Make it so"

It was a quite oul weekend, other than that. Being putting in some time to the Xbox 360 with Fifa World Cup and Rockstar Table Tennis. Its about the most exercise Ive got since I dont know how long! Anyway thats it, but before I go we have 20 passes to giveaway to a special screening of United 93 tomorrow night at the Gate. Tune in from 9pm to find out how to blag em!

Finally, a few moments to spare. Its been a busy week, and last night was the icing on the cake. More on that in a mo! Firstly, as some of you may know I was in Dingle for the oul Birthday, and no better place to test out my new Digital Cam! Heres a few shots from there and from aroundthe place!
From my sink - High speed shot

Surfer at Inch

Flipper...or Fungi or something!

The new cam is savage altogether, and Im after finding my photography buzz again..well for a while :) I may even start up one of them photo blogs! Granted, since I got the camera, its done nothing but fuckin rained! Absolutely typical. There was one day it didnt rain, and that was the Saturday in Dingle! I love the place, and it was a nice suprise to be whisked off there, by Ger last weekend! Its one of the few places Ill get up early, for the breakfast. Its all self service in the Skellig and there is quite a spread! Theres probably a small bit of shame involved grabbing an extra sausage and rasher or 3, but who cares. The Aquarium has been revamped, and its really a great attraction down there lately. Anytime we're in Dingle, the Oceanworld (or whatever its called) always gets a visit. Speaking of attractions, we made it out to Fungi for a second time, well my second time, Gers third. After about 10 minutes saling out towards the Penninsula, Fungi was spotted. The woman who owned the boat, or whatever she was, was the look out. She could be heard in Cork, in a real oul Bridy accent roaring "Hes over there now, look look look, hes right long side us". She was getting louder as the tourists hadnt a clue what she was saying. Then, the dolphin decided to feck off and disappear completely. Would that make her turn the boat around, like shit it would. They drove onwards past the breakwaters and out into the Atlantic. At one stage I was waiting to see the Manhattan skyline we were so far out. The swell was fairly bad, and the boat was up and down like something out of the Perfect Storm. We didnt shit ourselves, but we came close. No sign of the little bastard out there, so they turn around (which was another almost shitting ourselves experience) and headed back. The calm waters and my nerves didnt last long, they turned around a back out into the swell! Either way, the found Fungi again, but at this stage, I was silently saying to myself "Turn this thing around". Its quite the experience, hanging over the side of a boat with a camera waiting for a dolphin to show up, and someone shouts look out for the wave! Great birthday, really enjoyed it. Too much food, too much drink and all that goes with it. We were out for dinner with people nearly every night last week.

Now back to something I mentioned earlier. One of the most important items for Cork Talks Back is a phone system. It went wallop last night in the nine hour, and Richie our Engineer was soon on the case, but we didnt get it back till after 11. It was a struggle, but people didnt seem to notice. It still annoyed the crap out of me, because the show is called Cork Talks Back, not me talking back. It was probably the worst moment we've had on the show, but its done and dusted now! Move onwards!

Anyway, thats it for now. Dont forget another chance to be in with a chance of getting an interview for the Rose of Tralee Escort gig and some more cookbooks up for grabs later on tonight!

Im afriad I had to cancel the B-Day drinks on Saturday night. Being whisked off for the weekend by her goodself! So for anyone planning on descending on The Brog on Saturday night to lavish me with drinks and gifts, send em in to the usual address instead, cos Ill be way out West :)

Havent put up on some
bebo whiteboard art for a while, so heres 2 recent additions!
Right, down to business! Last Wednesday I introduced the first ever public screening of Digital Cinema in Ireland, at the Gate cinema (Im convinced I blogged this but not sure, so excuse me If I have..its the old age setting in) I was just expecting to intro Prime and that was it! I felt honored in a weird way. Ive been a fan of cinema for years and the technology thats behind it as well. For anyone that knows me, you'll know what Ive done to one of the rooms in the house! Either way Ive followed the plight of digital cinema for some time now, and I was genuinely thrilled to say "Folks this is the shit, it doesnt get any better than this". I stuck around after the announcing to sample some digital cinema action, and it didnt dissapoint. Even the censors screen was alot more enjoyable. It was Crystal clear, and lots of texts after the movie to compliment the picture and sound quality!God Im such a nerd!

Risteards last ever night producing Cork Talks Back was last night. There was lots of texts wishing him well which was nice. For the last week or 2, people have been ringing into the show just to say Thanks and Good Luck! I know he was thrilled with this. Great gesture from people! Ive worked with Risteard for quite some time now and as I said last night, its like Im losing a leg, not from the knee down, but from the hip down! Dave Mac is the man thats looking to grow back that leg! Behind every talk show, good or bad, theres a producer and Risteard put in some savage amount of work at times into Cork Talks Back. Never complained, never moaned, he just got on with the job at hand! The show has gone through many changes over the last 3 years, more so in the last 6 months and Risteard was one of the main forces implementing those changes! I came to rely on him for lots of stuff and now its over! Since Dave Mac has started, hes been doing great things, and Im going into the show with a headache which is a sign of great things to come! Either way, Risteard will be missed by lots of people in the station and Id like to take this oul oppurtunity to say "Best of Luck Risteard and Thank you very, very much"

Other than that, the show must go on! We'll continue to make it better! Heres to a new era of Cork Talks Back!

Ive got about 30 odd hours left, before I hit 30. Ger wants to make a big deal out of it, butIm not pushed to be honest. Im going to go for dinner with my Parents and Ger on my Birthday. Thursday night and go adventuring with me B-Day presents on Friday. Im not having a party or anything (not my thing really) but will be having a few drinks on Saturday night in town around half eight, in my regular Thursday night venue! All is welcome if you can figure out where it is! Shouldnt be too hard!

Thats about it for now, Im off to contemplate what getting old is!

Monday, May 15, 2006

CORK TALKS BACK HYPNOSIS SESSION DOWNLOAD

Finally here it is. Download Paul Dee and the Live on Air Hypnosis session from Cork Talks Back by right clicking and saving as here
Ok, my sincere apologies to all who expected the download of Paul Dee's hypnosis session to be available to download. It will be available later! Apologies for the delay, but a technical glitch has fecked me up!

Thursday, May 11, 2006

No update yesterday as I woke up with a belter of a headache and it took some time to get rid of it! Later on tonight or early tomorrow morning the entire audio from Paul Dees visit will be available to download. Ill post the link up here when it is! Its been a busy few days and it was only last night on the drive home that it hit me! In 7 days time (18th) Im going to hit the ripe old age of 30. I hate my birthday, well hate is too strong a word, but Im not a big fan of it. simply because of all the fuss! Sure I like the presents bit (shallow that I am) but if theres any fuss at all it makes me nuts!

Either way, Im a week away from almost half the retirement age! I dont feel 30, I dont look 30 (I look about 51) and its weird to comprehend 30 years! Maybe at midnight on the 17th/18th Ill suddenly change into a proper 30 year old, unlikey though! One of the things that got me thinking was a big debate that was raging on the show last night, about a British woman whos have a child at 63. When the kid is 20, she'll be 83. So Im figuring, and if my maths is correct, if we had a kid in the morning Id be 40 by the time the thing was 10. 50 by the time it was 20 and so on and so forth. Maybe tis time to, as a mate of mine used to say way back in the day, let the juice get to use! Ill have to dig that book out..the one with the birds and the bees, just to figure out what goes where and all that! Where the fuck will I find a stork???

Decided to have lunch today and flicked on the box. Daytime TV sucks, but Oprah came on as I turned on the TV. Its a bit behind the states, but the women were going out of their mind when Oprah came onstage. Oprah opens here mouth and says "Hello" or something to that effect, and they go absolutely crazy. Oprah blinks - woman start gasping for air and scream their lungs out! Oprah takes a deep breath and says "Welcome to our 20th season" The women go wild again, where do they get all this energy. Oprah takes a dump on stage and the women go absolutely, positively gaga and one runs out to grab the turd. Ok the last bit didnt happen. She brings out Jennifer Aniston and I swear to God, the women in the crowd lost their minds. Maybe they were all lesbians and fancied abit of Jen! It got so loud and wild, I felt I was watching a riot taking place. The only thing they were missing was a few chairs flying through the studio and the occasional petrol bomb! Im not begrudging Oprah her success, fair play to her. But seriously though the shower in the crowd might want to settle down a bit! I recall a year and a bit ago, Oprah gave all the audience a car each. A brand new Datsun, or Escort or something. They lost their mind. Im sure someone even died because of it. Anyway, I rang up the Harpo office looking to talk to Oprah and wondering could I get a new car and the guy on the end of the phone lost his mind just like the audience!

Thats it for today, for any Keano fans check out Stevie Gs blog. Some great pics from the Testimonial!

Heres the moment alot of people have been waiting for! As some of you gamers will know, E3 is up and running from today. Basically its a feck off big conference for video games! Heres the press release from Sony.

PlayStation®3 Launches On November 17, 2006 Across Mainland Europe

Equipped with Blu-ray and Pre-Installed HDD

Available at €499 (20GB HDD) and €599 (60GB HDD)

Los Angeles, May 8, 2006 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced today that it would launch PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3) in “Clear Black” throughout mainland Europe and Australasia on November 17, 2006, as part of a worldwide simultaneous launch.
PS3 is the most advanced computer system that serves as a platform to enjoy next generation computer entertainment contents in the home, realized through the combination of Cell and RSX™ processors, in addition to the playability of a vast catalog of PlayStation® and PlayStation®2 software titles.
Having Giga-bit Ethernet and a pre-installed hard disk drive (HDD) as standard in PS3, users will be able to download a variety of contents as well as access on-line games and services over the network.
Equipped with basic input/output ports, PS3 supports a broad range of displays from conventional NTSC/PAL standard TVs to the latest full HD (1080i/1080p) flat panel displays, offering the joy of the most advanced computer entertainment contents to homes around the world. For use in living rooms, maximum heat and noise reduction has been achieved with a noise level equivalent to that of the current slim-line PlayStation 2.
With the overwhelming computational power of the Cell processor, PS3 is capable of playing back content from Blu-ray (BD) disc at a bit rate of multiplex 48Mbps with ease, the maximum bit rate defined in BD standards.
The new controller for PS3 has been created by refining and improving the world’s most popular PlayStation controller which has shipped more than several hundred million units worldwide. The controller for PS3 employs a high-precision, highly sensitive six-axis sensing system that is capable of processing all parameters within the controller itself, thereby eliminating the need for any additional settings on the display system. By applying this technology, it will become possible to freely control the PS3 system over the network.
While further enhancing the joy of entertainment on PlayStation 2 and PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable), SCEE will vigorously promote PS3 as the next generation computer entertainment platform.

In My opinion, I really think Sony have missed the boat on this round! The price of it for a start! I know the Xbox 360 was dear, but the Ps3 is nearly double it! It wasnt so long ago that Sony were harping on about having one product and MS were full of shit (Ok they didnt say they were full of shit, but you get the drift...dont you?) with their optional HD package! From what I can gather the games arent much better than the Ps2 and are on par with the Xbox 360. Alot of the Sony fanboys are losing their minds on various forums over this, and who can blame them! HDMi connection only on the dearer console, cmon!!! If its gonna do Hi-Def it needs this, otherwise there gonna have to use component out on the "cheaper" version. The controller is ripping off Nintendo, and it looks the same as the Ps2 controller! Dont get me wrong, Im a huge Sony fan, most of the stuff in the house is made by Sony but the Ps3 is starting to look like a disappointment. Anyways, heres a few screenshots of the games, grabbed from Euro Gamer.

The Nintendo conference starts in under 4 hours from now, and I think the MS one kicks off at 7pm our time! Either way this is E3 has been Microsofts, and I would think Nintendo will not be far behind! For anyone thats on Xbox Live, dont bother downloading the Test Drive Unlimited Demo its absolute pants. The Lost Planet demo which is online later, is well worth a download!!!!

Good show last night, first real night for Dave Mac and all is well! I came up with an interesting idea last night and maybe if someone from Sony Pictures is reading get in touch and I can discuss this further (Sarcasim). Anyway, with all the religious tones throughout the Davinci Code, the church has decided to shut up about the whole thing as opposed to lash into it! Well heres what Im proposing. When the Davinci code opens, a van load of priests should be sent to each cinema its in around the country. They accompany you and sit with you during the flick, and if you have a question about whats going on or did it really happen, just hit the priest with it. It might not be feasible to have a priest for every cinema goer, so if that doesnt work have a priest seated every 6-7 people! Sorted.

Speaking of the flicks, The Prime screening is on this evening and 7pm with your truly announcing it! See you there!

PS Just noticed Im at #10 in the Irish Blogs. Those of you who voted, thanks a mill. You can vote here

Well Ive crawled out of bed and Im going to attempt to lay down some thoughts.

First off Paul Dee, last night was really really good! There were genuninely some very funny moments. 1 or 2 bits didnt work as well, but thats always going to happen. After it was all said and done, I genuinely felt a bit out of it. This happened the last time Paul was in the studio as well. Its hard to describe, but I felt the world around me was after speeding up slightly and I was after slowing down, if you understand! Maybe thats normal for me, but I really thought my speech was after slowing down a tad! It wore off by around 12ish, thankfully! From time to time, I get amazed at our phone system. When I gave away tickets for various Paul Dee shows last night, the thing nearly blew up. If theres a really hot topic it happens or a really big competition, but rarely to the extent of last night. We have six lines and they just kept flashing god knows how long. My new producer, Dave Macardle, could barley get a line out of the building! So by that reaction alone, I think people really enjoyed it. Its a bit different from our normal show, but as they say it was a break from the norm!

7 people made it and its quite bizarre to see what happens. During an adbreak last night, Paul had to leave the studio and I was left with 7, completely hypnotised people. They were just standing there, heads down away in hypno land. I didnt want to move, in case Id wake em. Well thats what it felt like. Even Risteard came in to tell me something, but he decided to write it down. Its a moment that'll live with me for some time! Theres a photo or 2 from that particular moment down below.

Thats about it for the blog for today, so check out the vids and pics. Have a good weekend. Back on the Sunday night from 10pm!
Its 330am and my eyes are hanging out of my head. Ive uploaded most of the video, it'll take a bit of time if your on a sloooowww connection! As usual you can never capture the best bits, but it'll give you an idea of the bedlam that happened when Paul Dee came to Red and hypnotised people. Ill give a proper account over the next day or 2, but heres the pics from the night! Thanks to all who turned up and to Risteard and my new producer, Dave Mac for working like mad! The writing on the sheet of paper is actually from the guy who was the chinese interperter! Mad!
